Station or Replit?
Replit is an all-in-one app builder, while Station gives a home to the agents and code you already have. Which one fits depends on what you’ve outgrown.
$39/month for one Station, plus your own AI subscription. Your first hour is free, no card needed. After that, a card starts a 7-day free trial (one per customer). Checkout shows the exact date of your first charge.
How to decide.
- 01
Name what you need next
A quick way to build and publish in one place, or more say over your code, your agent and where it ships?
- 02
See what your app leans on
Code, database, logins, uploads, domain: find out where each one lives before planning a move.
- 03
Move without burning the bridge
Keep the old version running while you try the new workflow, and switch once you trust it.
Side by side.
| What matters | Defang Station | Replit |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Your GitHub project and your own Claude Code or Codex account. | An all-in-one builder with its own agent inside. |
| Publishing | Real links from your Station; Defang Deploy for the launch, in your own cloud. | Publishing built in; the published app runs apart from the editor. |
| You’ll be happier with | Your own agents, and a say in how it ships. | One integrated place to build and publish. |
Defang put this together from each product’s own documentation, reviewed 2026-09-25. We didn’t test speed. Check current terms before you choose.
When Replit fits better
Replit builds and publishes in one place, with its own deployments, custom domains and monitoring. If that integrated experience covers what you need, staying put is a fine answer.
When Station fits better
Station is for working from a GitHub project with Claude Code or Codex on your own account. You get a workspace that stays on, real links for feedback, and Defang Deploy for when you want the app in your own cloud.
Moving takes some work
Exporting code doesn’t export your database, your users’ logins or your hosting setup. Check what your tool lets you take, get the app running on your Station, and test each piece before you retire the original.
Before you start.
Does Station replace every Replit capability?
No. Station doesn’t include an integrated builder or shared team seats. It gives your own agents a home, so compare against the parts of Replit you actually use.
Are both publishing options private?
Station’s published links are open to anyone who has them. Replit documents access controls on eligible plans. If the work is sensitive, check before you share.
