Connect your accounts
Sign Claude Code and Codex in on your Station, pair WhatsApp, and reach your agents from the apps you already use. Your provider credentials stay on your Station.
Connect once your Station is ready
You do not pick an agent up front. Claude Code and Codex are installed on every Station, and connecting one signs it in to the subscription you already pay for. Connect the other whenever you want it.
- Sign up. Your Station starts building straight away, and usually takes about two minutes.
- When it is ready, press Connect for Claude Code or Codex. The first-run flow gives each account its own page. After that, each one has a row on your Station’s page in Mission control.
- A short dialog walks you through it, one step at a time. For Claude Code you open Claude’s sign-in page, then paste back the code it shows you. For Codex you copy a one-time code, then enter it on OpenAI’s page.
- The dialog says the account is connected when the provider’s own status check confirms the sign-in worked. If you close it halfway, the sign-in keeps going, and you can pick it up where you left off.
Every one of those steps runs on your Station, and Claude Code or Codex saves your login there, the same way it would on your laptop.
Then work from the apps you already use
The agents on your Station are the official Claude Code and Codex, installed from their own published packages and signed in with your subscription. That is why the apps Anthropic and OpenAI ship work with the sessions running on your Station.
Claude Code supports Anthropic’s remote control. Once you’ve signed Claude Code in on your Station, Anthropic’s desktop and mobile apps can drive that session directly. Look for the session whose name ends in @<your-Station-address>, where the address is the hostname you land on when you open your Station. Copy that address exactly as it appears, dashes and all, with no https:// and no trailing path. The dashes are part of the name, even where they look like they should be the dots of an IP address.
For Codex, pair the Codex app on your computer or the ChatGPT app on your phone from your Station’s page. You get a short code to enter in the app, and from then on the app drives the Codex session on your Station. If your Station’s page says pairing isn’t available on your Station yet, start with Claude Code, or email support@defang.io and we’ll update it.
Use WhatsApp from Message Yourself
Open the Connections panel on your Station’s page and press Connect beside WhatsApp. Enter your WhatsApp number with its country code. When the pairing code appears, open WhatsApp on your phone and go toLinked devices → Link a device → Link with phone number instead, then enter the code.
After pairing, open your Message Yourself chat. Every message must begin with the prefix shown in the setup dialog, such as@agent. Defang Station sets this prefix for you. Messages from other chats and messages without that prefix are ignored.
Send @agent /sessions to list the sessions you can reach, then @agent /target NAME to choose one. Send @agent /target auto before your next message when you want a new session. Replace@agentwith the exact prefix shown for your Station.
Never paste a key into a Defang page
Defang does not need your Anthropic or OpenAI token. If any page on defang.io or station.defang.io asks for one, stop and tell us at support@defang.io.
Where credentials live
Claude Code or Codex saves your login on your Station, the same way it would on your laptop. Defang never receives it, and it appears nowhere in Mission control. Destroying the Station removes its workspace and that login with it.
Google sign-in is different
Google is how you sign in to Mission control, your Defang Station account itself. That identity proves who you are to Defang Station. It does not connect Google to Claude Code or Codex, and it grants no access to your repositories.
